The Syneron Candela GentleMax Pro® laser is a dual-wavelength laser platform that combines the fastest and most powerful 755 nm Alexandrite laser with an equally powerful 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser for high-performance treatment capabilities in terms of speed, efficacy, ease-of-use, performance, safety, and patient satisfaction.
The Pro Advantage – Faster – Greater Performance – More Versatility!
The GentleMax Pro® can treat beard bumps, laser hair reduction, pigmented lesions, acne, rosacea, and fine lines/wrinkles.
It’s called the GentleMax Pro® for a reason.
It’s gentle. All lasers are painful on some level—after all, you are zapping your skin with heat—but the unique thing about this one is the cooling technology. Before and after each pulse of heat, there’s a “Patented Dynamic Cooling Device” that releases a quick burst of cool.
The GentleMax Pro® is the fastest dual wavelength hair removal laser in the market. The GentleMax Pro® is a single consolidated system that delivers a range of treatments – all skin type hair removal, as well as pigmented lesions, acne, Rosacea, and skin tightening.
Do Laser Treatments Hurt?
Most patients describe the sensation to feeling like the snap of a rubber band on the skin as the laser pulses are delivered to the skin. Following treatment, the pain is minimal.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
Typically, one to four or more treatment sessions are necessary to completely remove a pigmented spot. Hair reduction requires 5 or more treatments depending on how much hair there is and what area of the body is being treated. Occasionally, thicker/coarse hair or darker/larger lesions may require additional treatments to obtain optimal results. Since acne and rosacea can be ongoing, it is typically recommended to get treatments every 2weeks until acne and Rosacea are adequately controlled then every few months thereafter. Since the aging process never ends, skin tightening treatments can be done once per month for a series of 3, then on an as-needed basis.
How Long Do Treatments Take?
For pigmentation issues, it depends on the number, size, and location of the pigmented spot, but the laser treatment sessions usually take only a few minutes. For laser hair reduction, the time it takes depends on the size of the area being treated. For example, it can take anywhere from 15 minutes for the chin/unibrow, or up to 1.5 hours for full legs or back. Acne, Rosacea, and skin tightening treatments can take 30-60 minutes depending on the area treated.
Will the Spots/Hair Return After Treatment?
Not usually. In general, we find that laser removal of pigmentation spots are permanent; however, people do sometimes see new spots appear if they go back out into the sun without adequate protection. These are new spots forming, not a recurrence of the old, removed spots. Optimal results can be maintained only if you apply sunscreen diligently on the treated area and limit future sun exposure.
Laser hair reduction destroys the hair follicles permanently. After each treatment, you’ll start noticing a reduction in the amount of hair you have in the area that was treated. Your hair is in a constant growth cycle, therefore it is required to wait between 4-8 weeks between treatments. The laser eliminates any hair that it can find during your treatment, but several treatments will be needed to have full reduction. After you have finished your last treatment, your body may create new hair over time. This is usually minimal, but an annual maintenance treatment plan is recommended to keep your desired results of smooth hairless skin.
Are These Treatments Safe?
Yes. Lasers and advanced light systems have been used safely on millions of patients of all ages worldwide. These systems treat only the targeted area, leaving the surrounding tissue intact. There are many benefits to laser surgery including little, if any pain, no need for injections or needles, and minimal bruising or swelling. The risk of scarring or discoloration is minimal.
How Will I Feel After My Laser Treatments?
Following laser treatment, your skin may feel a little warm like a slight sunburn, and for pigmentation treatments, there may be a darker discoloration of the pigmentation being treated. For pigmentation spots, a crust will form which will later fall off, usually within 7-14 days. Occasionally, some discoloration may persist for several months. For laser Hair reduction the hair follicle will fall out within 7-10 days.
